Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Why do I need a Working With Children Check (WWCC)?
In line with Life Saving Victoria's Member Protection Policy, the Rosebud & McCrae Life Saving Club is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all children and young people. Because of the nature of our Club facilities, Rosebud & McCrae Life Saving Club requires all Adult Nipper Family Members and Patrol Members aged 18 and over to hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC).Â
Please note that the Rosebud & McCrae Lifesaving Club is run by volunteers, and WWCC’s are free for volunteers and last for 5 years.Â
A member can apply for a WWCC prior to turning 18 and you are encouraged to do so if your 18th birthday falls after the current season commences in September.Â
How do I get a WWCC?

If you already hold a WWCC with another organisation you must add Rosebud & McCrae Life Saving Club to the list of organisations on your card
When completing your application you will need the following details:Â

Providing WWCC VerificationÂ
The Rosebud & McCrae Life Saving Club will confirm the status of your WWCC before your membership is accepted.Â
Send a simple text email to our Membership Team at with your WWCC Number & expiry date
Note Nipper Family Memberships: All adults under the membership application must provide their WWCC Number & expiry date before the Nipper Family Membership is approved

Exemption for registered teachers
A teacher in Victoria with current Victoria Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration is exempt from submitting a WWCC application. However, teachers volunteering in any child-related work outside of teaching must notify WWCC Victoria within 21 days of starting any new child-related work
When completing your notification you will be asked for the email address of the organisation. Please use Â
WWCC Victoria will send our Membership Team a confirmation email and we’ll be able to process your membership
If at any time your VIT registration is suspended or canceled, you must (under the Worker Screening Act 2020) advise us of this change within 7 days and that your exemption no longer applies. Severe financial penalties apply if you fail to do this
